Three days of literature, dialogue and discovery – Franschhoek Literacy Festival (FLF)

“We come together not simply to celebrate books, but to celebrate what makes them possible; conversation, challenge, curiosity, and the courage to see the world differently.”

This past weekend, I attended the Franschhoek Literacy Festival (FLF). Leading to the festival, I knew I wanted to make the most of my weekend at FLF and Franschhoek. Once I booked the sessions I wanted to attend, I carefully curated my itinerary – what a treat it was being in Franschoek.

As a first-timer at the festival, I wanted a good balance between the sessions and soaking up the atmosphere of Franschhoek. As a coffeeholic, I found some gems to hang out at between my sessions – #TheMomentsInBetween.

My Take away from FLF
The sessions were informative and educational with some nuggets and important information to ponder.
The sessions I attended, the authors and facilitators were engaging and well versed. There were some deep, enlightening conversations that left one with some Food for Thought.

My overall experience
The trip from Johannesburg to Franschhoek was worth it and FLF is now on my list of events to attend. It’s a good excuse for a Sho’t Left to Franschhoek.

I left the festival feeling inspired, stimulated and motivated to continue to pursue this writing journey I have embarked on. In good time, it will all come to light.
