The Test Kitchen by Luke Dale-Roberts – #ThrowBackThursday

Like most people who EVENTUALLY get a table at The Test Kitchen, one automatically has VERY high expectations.

An intimate restaurant, with lovely interior, an open plan kitchen where one gets to see the Chefs in action.

We had the 9 course menu without the wine pairing. Our table had very COMPLICATED dietary requirements. Our waitress was amazing, she explained the food well and ensured our dietary requirements were met.

Unfortunately for me, it did not live up to its hype, the overall culinary experience was great but I did find the dinner went on for too long. By the time we were served our final dessert, the entire table was ready to pay and call it a night. I guess that’s the negative thing about having a big table to serve with so many dietary requirements.

The service was exceptional and all our requests were met with a smile. I recommend it for the experience and if you open to trying new things, but do bear in mind that it will set you back a couple of RANDS.
