Sprout Cafe and Salad Bar

We discovered Sprout Cafe by chance, we happened to be in the area for Karting and were looking for a place to grab lunch and found this gem.

What I like about Sprout Cafe is the fact that the menu caters more for vegans, one is really spoilt for choice.

We ordered the Sprockets (Tofu) and the Vegan Buddah Bowl. My husband is not a fan of tofu but he was ranting and raving about the Sprockets. The buddah bowl was tasty but definitely not memorable. Overall the food looked clean, tasted good and well prepared.

We also decided to indulge in some dessert and ordered the Vegan Pancake Stack and the Vegan Doughnut Holes.

The vegan pancake stack were delectable, very large portion but i really enjoyed eating what I could. Tried my husbands donught holes, I was not blown away. These tasted slightly overcooked.

Overall, our vegan lunching experience was superb. Another place to add to my splendid dining experiences.

A vegetarian haven: Aurelie’s – the home of the natural foodie.

Finding a food place that caters to my vegetarian lifestyle is a challenge, especially when looking for a place that offers more than just pasta, pizza, butternut salad or a toasted cheese sandwich.

It was such a wonderful treat to have lunch at a 100% vegetarian restaurant that has wide selection of food to choose from.

Situated in Kyalami’s Waterfall Estate area, country estate drive Aurelie’s Health & Lifestyle Café is a vegetarian haven that shows that vegetarian food does not have to be bland.

The menu offerings includes a comprehensive breakfast menu, wraps, burgers, salads, smoothies, veggie juices & coffee. There are vegan, gluten free and banting-friendly versions available for many dishes.

I had the Eastern Soul – a falafel patty burger with grilled halloumi, peppadews, stir-fried mushrooms & tzatziki.

In addition to being able to enjoy a vegetarian meal, you are able to shop for health supplements, home accessories, consumable and they even offer Liquid Detox Packages.

The focus of this place is holistic, health & wellness and it’s an ideal place for individuals who do meatless Monday’s and individuals embarking on a healthy lifestyle. It’s a great place to try a vegetarian meal.

Vegan lunching in Cape Town – Plant Cafe

There one thing that I like about Cape Town (CT) is its abundance of eateries, restaurants and cafe. While driving to a meeting I stumbled upon Plant Cafe.

“Plant offers delicious vegan food, helping you make more compassionate choices without sacrificing taste…” This sums up why I like this place, they have taken the time to make “deliciously conscious” vegan food and not compromising on healthy.

The menu offering is quite substantial – from burgers, to wraps, to sandwhiches, to raw food, to salad…there’s plenty to choose from. I had their Vish Burger (Nori encrusted potato steak with rocket, tomato and tartar sauce) Who would have even thought of using Nori to create a burger.

I highly recommend a visit to Plant Cafe, for the meat eaters, its a great place to have your Meatless Monday.
